Shane Dedman

Paper Doll Radio is a series of images created using advertising posters from Dedman's college radio station's office. The posters, having been displayed for a decade, contained graffiti from the early 2000's that violently marked the bodies of the femme models, performers, and artists photographed. Dedman's intervention of the image included documentation of each image before they cut out the limbs of each figure and sculpted the paper to metaphorically cut them free from the hypercritical commentary attached forever to their paper embodiment.
